For those of you who want to visit Indonesia, more
precisely to Jakarta and surrounding areas for relaxation, Kebun Raya Bogor can
be the right choice for you. Bogor Botanical Garden or as known as Kebun Raya Bogor is an 87-hectare forest area that is overgrown
with more than 900 types of plants was established in 1918, but the Kebun Raya Bogor has existed from the days of the Siliwangi
Kingdom in the 13th century until the 14th century.
The History of Kebun
Raya Bogor
At first, this park will
only be used as an experimental garden for plantation crops that will be
introduced in the Dutch East Indies. But in its development, the establishment
of the Bogor Botanical Gardens can be said to have started the development of
science in Indonesia and as a forum for scientists, especially in the field of
botany in Indonesia in an organized manner at that time (1880-1905). From here,
several other scientific institutions were born, such as the Bibliotheca
Bogoriensis (1842), Herbarium Bogoriense (1844), and Cibodas Botanical Gardens
(1860), Treub Laboratory (1884), and Museum and Zoology Laboratory (1894).

store approximately 500 species of native Indonesian orchids as well as a place
of conservation so that these plants do not become extinct due to the loss of
their natural habitat.
